Jug’s Bowling Center wins annual Moosman team tournament.

The Northwest Ohio Bowling Proprietors annually hold the Dean Moosman Memorial Team

tournament in memory of the former proprietor and Ohio Hall of Fame member.

This year’s event with the $1,000 first place prize went to Jug’s Bowling Center with a 3,689 total .

Though trailing second place finishers Loma Linda/Venturas heading into the Baker games, the Jug’s team sizzled rolling a final Baker game of 247 for a 651 set and the championship. Interestingly their Baker set was higher than most individual bowlers in the tournament. Chad Rieger led Jug’s with a

consistent series of 222, 220 and 224 for a 666 set. Kagem Schroyer shot a 629 set and Charles

Easton, 619. Completing the team were Kurt Thompson, 569 and Joe Beck, 555.

Kevin Onweller and Chuck Reynolds Jr. led the second place team with 641 each. Reynolds finished

with a 269 game in his series; while Onweller opened with a 231. Jeff Kwiatkowski shot 602 for the

team that finished with a 3,679 total, just 10 pins behind the winners.

Other top individual bowlers included Jeff Shadbolt, 247, 652; and Kyle Waynick, 232, 629.

The top two teams also earned $400 and $250, respectively, in scholarship

money to award to youth bowlers of their choice.

Surviving the Game:

Week 7 results showed those eliminated in the Surviving the Game event were all from the Eagles

League. Those three with pins under average were Rod Roth, 105; Lucas Jenne, 83 and Bob

Vanscoder, 77.

Reminder:

Doubles and Singles events are now underway in the annual city tournament at Al-Mar Lanes.
