Four younger bowlers pass coaching clinic 

Colin Fahy, Ali Fahy, Sidney Dilsaver and Cheyenne Kolczynski, all recently attended the Level 1 United States Bowling Congress coaching clinic. Each of the four passed and are now Level 1 certified coaches. The program was held in 

Temperance, Michigan. 

Bowling for Boobs winners

The winners in the recent Bowling for Boobs fund-raising tournament (no-tap scoring) were Dave Walter with a 300 and 843 scratch series; Isaac Milleson with a 300 and 824 handicap series; and for the women, Yogi Wammes with a 676 actual series and Vicki Schumacher with an 809 handicap total.

Basebowl winners

The winning team in the recent Basebowl World Series tournament was the team composed of Ron Steinman, Butch Naugle and Chris Peace. Steinman led all bowlers with his 266 and 756. Runners up was the team of Nathan Lucas, Jay Haas and Jordan Franks.

BGHS tryouts 

Tryouts for this year’s Bobcat bowling teams have begun. Though already underway, any youth at Bowling Green High School can still participate in the tryouts. Contact Al-Mar Lanes at 419-352-4637 to join the tryouts to be a Bobcat Bowler. 

Surviving the Game 

Results of thefourth week of Al-Mar’s Surviving the game found three bowlers eliminated all from the American League. They are Kyle Frieley, 114 pins under average; Ken North, 102 under and Bill Schumahcer at minus 92. 

Final Frame 

This week we note the passing of longtime Bowling Green bowler Doug "Hooter" Henschen. He was the uncle of Al-Mar's Nate Henschen. Also the father of Mark Wolfrod, Charles Wolford also recently passed. Condolences to both the Henschen and Wolford families.

Upcoming event 

The annual City tournament begins Sunday with the Squad of Champions. Many leagues will take a break to allow its bowlers to compete instead in the team event. 

League highlights through Nov. 4.

Many of the leagues completed the first third and crowned divisional champions. In those leagues the winner of each division for the third is automatically in the final playoff for league championship at the end of the season.
