Pepsi qualifiers

There were 18 youth bowlers who earned qualification to advance in the annual Pepsi tournament in the first round of qualifying through Al-Mar Lanes. They are listed below. The second round of qualifying will be held on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8.

Qualifiers are as follows: Girls; 8 and under, Lucia Hannam 159; 10 and under Adylynn Babcock, 223; 12 and under, Kyleigh Leu, 287; 15 and under Jena Kirian 469 and Linda Alfaro, 453; 17 and under Kelly Miller, 603; and 20 and under Alli Fahy, 430.

Boys: 8 and under Blair Baldonado, 195 and Nathan Wiener, 193; 10 and under, Conner Main, 305; Porter Dimick, 292; 12 and under, AJ Bucher, 322; 15 and under Avery Latta, 533; Austin Bowen, 462; and Jerrad Main, 421; 17 and under James Alfaro, 583; Brandon Knell, 560; and Colin Fahy, 531.

Early City Tournament leaders: (Through Tuesday)

BG Motors has the early lead in the annual Open Division in the Bowling Green City Tournament bowling event currentlyrunning at Al-Mar Lanes. H& W Motor Freight has the lead in the Ladies Division.

BG Motors was led by Ron Steinman who had a consistent series of 701 with a high game of 237. Jay Haas was not farback with his 229 and 670 set. Rounding out the team were Ernie Tebeau with 582; Mike Baker, 549 and Jerry Crawford,512. The team totalled 3,011 actual and 3,371 with handicap.

Second place at the time was Kominek Aluminum at 3,331; followed by Thayer Chevrolet at 3,278; Sweddy Balls at 3,253and completing the top five is Old Guys Rule at 3,241.

Brothers Lucas Jenne and Kurt Wood each rolled a 700 series for Kominek Aluminum, with Jenne shooting a 279 in his 708and Wood having a 268 high for 708. Ken North had a 672 for the team.

Brian Dimick led Thayer with his 257, 701 and Shad King bowled 247, 684.

Neil Genson led Sweddy Balls with his 268 game for 660; while Josh Crawford brought down the average age for Old GuysRule and led the team with his 258 and 724. Dave Walter added a 244 for 692.

Anita Dilsaver sizzled on the lanes as she shota high game of 266 in her 701 series to lead H&W to the women’s lead. YogiWammes shot a 202 game in hr 567 and MaryAnn Dimick had a 205 in her 544 for the leaders. Rounding out the teamwere Pat Smith and Melissa DeSmith.

The team totaled 2,674 actual and 3,184 with handicap for the lead. In second place is Al-Mar Lanes at 3,178, just six pinsback. Bigelow Trucking sits in third place at 3,109.

Lori Hutton led Al-Mar with her 213 game for 540 and Angie Iliff contributed a 505 for the second place team. Robin Eulerwas high for Bigelow with her 194 for 500.

Other top individual efforts individually through Tuesday include Mondo Calderon, 266, 743; Brent Norris, 276; RogerPierstorff, 268; Pancha Melendrez, 237, 617; Mallory Fritz, 205, 575; and Sandy Naugle, 210.

The Ladies Major league completed its first third and crowned divisional champions last week as each division for the third is automatically in the final playoff for league championship at the end of the season.

The first third champions are Marsh & Marsh with a 46-24 record and Groom Room at 53-17

Individual highs last week were Pancha Melendrez, 211, 588; Yogi Wammes, 200, 572; and Tricia Green 218, 566.
