High school bowling over for season locally

Wood County high school bowling teams have concluded their season.

Eastwood’s boys team finished eighth in the Division II state bowling tournament last Friday at Wayne Webb Lanes in Columbus.

The Eagles bowled team games of 848, 905 and 830, then added a 573 in three Baker games to qualify for match play as the No. 8 seed. Only the top eight of the 16 teams in the state tournament advanced to match play.

Eastwood lost 3-1 to top-seeded St. Henry in a best-of-5 Baker match to place eighth.

Jordan Cook was the top bowler for Eastwood, finishing 16th overall with a 589 individual series.

The Bowling Green girls team finished fifth in the division I district tournament held Saturday at Interstate Lanes in Rossford.

Kelly Miller was high for the Bobcats with her 584, which was seventh among all the bowlers.
