The 11th Frame (12/23/2018)

11th Frame   12.23.18

Avery Latta bowls 254, 659 in youth league

‘Tis the season for strange things happening like Santa coming down your chimney with a new bowling ball, bag and shoes and being disappointed you don’t have any lanes available for him.

Or you ask Santa for a 300 game and get a 400 series instead. But then again, that wasn’t Santa’s fault, that was the work of the Grinch.

Speacking of that mean one — Mr. Grinch, he somehow hid, lost, or otherwise stole this writer’s copy of the final standings for the city touranament for doubles, singles and all-events. I had them in my hot little hands and thought I had placed them with all the information you find below. That is … until I finally found the time to write this week’s column. And lo and behold, those standings were nowhere to be found.

Truth be told, I would have happily destroyed the doubles standings as this writer and his doubles partner not so proudly occupied the final spot in the standings. Merry Christmas from us for allowing all the other doubles team to total more pins than us. Trust me, that was not our intention, but we did give you all that gift. On the happy side, we made the same out of money in the tournament that the first doubles team out of the money made. We tied with a lot of doubles pairs with zero prize money. Yea for all of us non-winners. No, none of us are losers, we are just the group that did not knock down enough pins.

Christmas promise: † — †I will have the complete results of doubles, singles and all-events in both the open and womens’ divisions in the next column cross my ♥— hopefully by New Years. Until then, Merry Christmas to all and to all good bowling.

Surviving the Game:

The latest results showed those eliminated in the Surviving the Game event in Week 8. They were Crystal Bucher and Aubrey Horine, both in the Ladies Major League at -75 and -48, respectively and Kris Kolk in the Eagles League at 43 pins under average.
