Perrysburg boys and Napoleon girls claim NLL titles 

Seven guys shoot 700 in Eagles league, three achieve it in American League 

The Yellow Jackets of Perrysburg won the Northern Lakes League bowling title for the boys with 32 points. Both Perrysburg and Napoleon won seven matches; however, the ‘Jackets’ claimed the title by winning the tournament to grab an extra 18 points for a 32 point total and the league title. Anthony Wayne finished second in the tournament to total 27 points; Maumee place third with 24 point, half of which were earned with their third place finish in the tournament. Napoleon struggled in the tournament and placed fifth to only earn six points for a total of 20. The Bowling Green Bobcats were fourth in the tournament and finished with 17 points; Springfield finished in the last spot with only three points. 

The Bobcat girls finished second behind Napoleon with 21 points 10 behind the champions who totaled 31. Napoleon went undefeated in the league matches as well as winning the tournament. The Bobcats took third in the tournament but outscored Springfield with its six matches won for overall second place. Anthony Wayne was fourth for the girls and Perrysburg was fifth. Maumee did not field a girls team. 

Maumee’s Sam Burton recorded the high average at 202. 27. He was followed closely by Perrysburg’s Jared Carr at 201.40 Troy Kerschner, Anthony Wayne averaged 200.67. Completing the top five were Roby Fairchild, Maumee and Levi Anderson, Napoleon, with 198.32 and 197.8, respectively. James Alfaro led the Bobcats at 189.55. 

High average for the girls went to Bowling Green’s Kelly Miller at 180.44. She was followed by Napoleon’s Spencer Schwawaiger, Lydia Wachtman, Jalin Ruple and Ella Fox.  In order the other four averaged 176.14, 173.80, 172.50 and 171.43. Next high for the Bobcats was Linda Alfaro, 154.38 and Ali Fahy, 149. 

Surviving the Game: 

The latest results showed those eliminated in the Surviving the Game event in Week 14. For the second consecutive week they included two members of the Ladies Major league, The four eliminated with league bowled in and pins under average were Bobby Ott, American, 74; Mike Fritz, Elks, 47; and Kirsten Knell, 45 and Angie Iliff, 40, both of the Ladies Major.
